Grameenphone Ltd., in
partnership with Evista
Technologies, launched the
Grameenphone Studyline
service, at a city hotel
during 15 October 2009.
Studyline is a call center
based new service that
provides callers education
related information over the
phone.
The service was launched by
Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid,
Honorable Minister, Ministry
of Education, Government of
Bangladesh, and Brig. Gen. Zia
Ahmed (retd.), Chairman,
Bangladesh Telecommunication
Regulatory Commission (BTRC),
who were present at the
program as Chief and Special
Guest respectively.
Grameenphone CEO, Oddvar
Hesjedal, and Evista
Technologies CEO, Syed Khairul
Hassan were also present.
The Studyline service is
accessible from any
Grameenphone connection
through a short code and all
calls are attended by human
agents.
The service offers admission
information on local schools,
colleges, and universities,
admission procedures for
renowned universities around
the world, information on
standardized test like IELTS,
SAT, GMAT, GRE etc, in
addition to other relevant
services.
Grameenphone through the
Healthline service has grown
to become a reliable source
for information on health
issues. The Studyline service
is a continuation of
Grameenphone’s objective to
offer its customers services
on the basic necessities of life.
Speaking on the occasion
Grameenphone CEO said that
Studyline “will be the most
cost efficient, time saving
means to secure accurate
information on queries related
to education. What is more
important is that information
is available to anyone,
anywhere in the country. No
more will access to accurate
information be centralized in
Dhaka.”
Studyline aims to disseminate
accurate and up to date
information which will be
reliable resources for
prospective students and their
guardians.
Moreover, with Studyline,
Grameenphone hopes to
contribute to the overall
socio economic development of
the country, as people at the
rural level will be able to
get quick and easy access to
information on higher studies.
It will save their time and
cost of traveling to cities
for collecting information.
Grameenphone Studyline will be
the first call center based
education information service
in the country. The first call
was inaugurated by Architect
Yasef Osman, Honorable State
Minister, Ministry of Science
and Technology, on the
occasion of World
Telecommunication &
Information Association Day
Fair (WTISD 2009) held at
Chittagong in May 2009. The
fair was organized by the BTRC.
