Nokia took its nationwide
campaign called 'Ovijan' to
Nilphamari yesterday.
A bus, equipped with computers
and Nokia mobile handsets with
internet connections, will
visit different places in the
district until October 27 as
part of the programme.
The countrywide programme,
launched on October 18, aimed
at making the new generation
aware about internet and help
them making personal e-mail
identity.
Nokia, an international
handset maker, launched the
programme at the Shilpakala
Academy auditorium in town.
Asaduzzaman Noor, the lawmaker
from Nilphamari-2, attended
the programme as chief guest.
Farhad Hossain, the deputy
commissioner, was also present.
“It is indeed a praiseworthy
programme to create awareness
in the new generation about
modern technology," Noor said.
The programme will make it
possible for rural people to
get information from around
the world quite easily,” the
lawmaker said.
The programme will cover 120
schools of 40 districts, Nokia
officials said.
