Banglalink's revenue increased
by 25 percent at the end of
September, thanks to the
company's strategy of
improving earnings by lowering
operating cost.
At the end of third quarter
2009, the revenue earnings
reached Tk 1,801 crore from Tk
1,440 crore during the same
period a year ago.
"Increased subscriber base has
contributed to these positive
results," according to the
company's financial report
released yesterday by its
parent company Orascom Telecom
Holding.
Commenting on recent
performances Naguib Sawiris,
chairman of Orascom Telecom,
said Banglalink continues to
deliver strong results.
The customer base of the
compant, still retains its
second position, reached 1.21
crore at the end of Q3.
Subsequently, Banglalink's
market share has also
increased to 24.1 percent as
of Q3 2009 compared to 22.5
percent in Q3 2008 as per
subscriber base.
Banglalink successfully
achieved an EBITDA (earnings
before interest, taxes and
depreciation) of almost Tk 665
crore during the first nine
months of 2009. The EBITDA
percentage for Q3 2009
remained steady at 40 percent.
